A One Life To Live Alum Joins General Hospital In Mystery Role

Josh Kelly, who made a splash during his brief time on "One Life to Live" and also appeared on the Lifetime series "UnReal," has been cast in a new role on "General Hospital."

But the only information released about this character is whom his arrival on the Port Charles scene will affect. According to Deadline, Kelly's character might upend the lives of Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).

When news of Kelly's casting broke, the Twitterverse was awash with speculation about whom he could be playing, with some fans believing he could be a new Jason Morgan, replacing actor Steve Burton, who was let go from the show in the fall of 2021 when he refused to comply with ABC/Disney's COVID-19 vaccine mandate (via Deadline). After all, Britt is still not over Jason, whom she briefly dated, and Sam is Jason's ex-wife, who is now dating Dante.

"Josh Kelly can act, hopefully will give Jason some type of personality & have chemistry will whoever he's paired with #GH," tweeted one fan.

Others are not sure Kelly is the right age to play Jason, as this Twitter user noted, suggesting he could be playing Luke and Laura's long-missing son, instead. "Anybody General Hospital hires as a hunk, the fans reflexively assume is another Jason recast candidate. Josh Kelly is the most recent example. He seems a little young to me for Jason, but a Lucky recast seems more plausible for me."
