• While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Kassidy helped found the University of Maryland's first fashion/lifestyle magazine, Monumental Magazine. She not only contributed to the website and blog, but also produced articles and photography for each print edition of the magazine.
• Kassidy worked on Monumental Magazine for four years as a contributing writer, fashion photographer, managing editor, creative director, and eventually the magazine's editor-in-chief her senior year. She worked with a group of students to successfully produce and design two 60-page print and digital editions of the magazine.
• She has also previously interned for American Salon, where she covered everything from beauty trends, popular products and launches, and even interviewed celebrity makeup artists. She worked under mentors at the company and learned about running their social media accounts as well.

Experience

Kassidy is a recent college graduate from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland. Besides her beauty, fashion, and lifestyle experience, which is what she is most passionate about, she has also helped produced an investigative story uncovering gender inequities in high school sports. This piece, which was a four-month-long investigation, won the Drake Group Student Journalism Prize for Investigative Reporting on Intercollegiate Athletics. Kassidy is also a general assignment reporter for the Alexandria Times, where she has covered everything from restaurant spotlights to environmental issues to in-depth profiles.

Education

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland College Park.
